There’s soooo much hub-bub about people who like it, hate it, love the soundtrack, hate the soundtrack, that I certainly feel like I am missing out on something.
Tim Long (a Simpsons writer blogging at Vanity Fair) explains why fellow writers despise it.
Roger Ebert says why it’s just about the Best Film of the Year.
Matt Belknap (aka Sasquatch) via Jesse Thorn on why people hate the soundtrack.
Me blogging on all the Juno hub-bub.
Guess I gotta go see it.

I really liked it. I thought the beginning was a bit heavy handed with being precocious, but it found it’s mark and soon enough was not as funny as I expected, but a little more honest than you’d think going in. It was a nice balance for my taste.

I loved Juno. I, too, really wanted to hate it after the first 30 minutes. But, seriously, it becomes a shockingly good and winsome movie. I think the first 30 minutes is supposed to feel the way it does — before getting pregnant, Juno was just your average hipster teen. A movie that great can’t have a movie start that rough by accident.
But, seriously, why the hell hasn’t Superbad been nominated 10,000,000 times? I just saw it again last night and I’m pretty sure that’s the funniest movie ever made.
